30 Paintings in 30 Days Ledge Falls 1

Painted with three other artists in Baxter State Park today at Ledge Falls, a gorgeous fall day! The water was sparking and the sun was warm, enjoying these days before the weather turns colder. Did a large painting of the Ledges with Doubletop mountain. Prepared a new palette to start the day, it was very cold this morning 47 degrees when we started painting. We enjoyed our lunch in the sun at the falls and then I finished up the painting by turning the easel away from the view and occasionally looking back at the scene. After I finished the painting, I drove to the Matagamon Gate, through Patten and enjoyed the view of the mountain along the Grindstone Road back to Millinocket and dinner with all the artists from the Katahdin Plein Air Paint Out at the Scootic Inn. We were all very tired and had a little too much sun!
