Cape Porpoise 2

painted today at Cape Porpoise for the "Trust in Art" wet paint auction to benefit Heartwood College of Art and the Kennebunkport Conservation Trust. Very windy and in the 50's, just when I finished my easel blew off the rocks and into the brush below...very busy day for tourists and leaf peepers at Cape Porpoise, spoke with many nice folks while I was painting, hope the auction does well tonight! SOLD

Rained out for painting on 10-1, but was able to go out and paint with Marsha Donahue on 10-2. Spent the morning at Whetstone Bridge painting, the colors so beautiful, very cold, then we spent the rest of the day taking photos. Decided to try a 24 x 24 and give myself a challenge.

Took a canoe out to Church's Beach on 9-30 and painted this quick one of the mountain in an hour as the wind came up and the clouds turned black, hurried back just before the rain hit...then clearing and painted East Turner from the beach.

Paintings from 9-29, had some time to paint between the showers, the clouds were moving fast, the mountain constantly changing in and out of the clouds.

first painting from 9-28 sunset on Katahdin Lake, on the porch of Turner cabin where I stayed while at Katahdin Lake Wilderness Camps. Touching it up the next day while waiting for the showers to clear to get back out to paint...

Katahdin Lake painting trip 2009

just back from my solo painting trip to Katahdin Lake Wilderness Camps, foliage was peak, cold and rain and fog, but I managed to get in some painting time between the clouds and rain, a great trip! All the paintings can be seen at North Light Gallery in Millinocket, Maine.
