Goose Rocks Beach 1

Painted at Goose Rocks Beach today for the Trust in Art auction at Cape Porpoise on Saturday.  It was really windy and cool, but the colors were crisp and happy, my favorite time of year.
Underpainted the pastel painting with a medium magenta pastel, rubbed it in with a piece of foam insulation, used a big brush to wash the whole thing with SpectraFix fixative (thanks Bill Creevy!)  Used Ersta paper drymounted to foam core, the fixative dried very quickly in the windy dry air.  Then started to paint, the underpainting did not pick up at all unlike when I spray a few layers of the fixative on the base.  Painted with friends, had a great day, Kennebunk and Kennebunkport are beautiful right now!
