SOLD Katahdin Lake 10 North Light Gallery, Millinocket, Maine

Thank you North Light Gallery and to my new collector! Sunsets and sunrises on Katahdin Lake from the Wilderness Camps are very dramatic. This painting is a favorite of mine, was done in the studio and took a very long time to paint. All of my paintings start with an under painting of magenta, I enjoy the process of working with the magenta as I proceed with the painting, sometimes covering it, sometimes glazing over it, sometimes leaving it. This one had a lot of magenta for a long time. The old dock before renovations by camp operators Holly and Bryce Hamilton. I hope this painting shows the chill of mid October and the solitary peace of time spent on Katahdin Lake.
