Pastel Mural, River Tree Arts, Kennebunk, Maine

I was asked by the curator to do a pastel mural for the upcoming show at River Tree Arts in Kennebunk, Maine. It was an exciting project, but a little scary, the largest pastel that I had ever done was 24 x 36 and this was 40 x 66 and I had to use a ladder to do it. It turned out to be great fun and was just what I needed to do that day. I uses a combination of chalk and pastels, mostly Terry Ludwig pastels on panels freshly painted with chalkboard paint. I most often say yes to new projects and then just jump right in, I like the jumping off the cliff feeling! Sometimes a little stressful before doing, but it usually works out fine. The call to artists is included in the link for River Tree for Monday March 30.
