Pemaquid 24

 

Here are the stages of my most recent Pemaquid pastel painting. I started with a 9 x 24 Kitty Wallis paper dry mounted to acid free foam core, I covered the paper with magenta pastel and then washed with a big brush with SpectraFix casein based fixative. It dries very quickly outside then I did a quick drawing with a pastel pencil. Laid in the sky and blended with a piece of foam pipe insulation and moved along with the rest of the painting. A beautiful spring day in Maine!
