Saccarappa Art Collective 12 & 13, Westbrook, Maine

Here is the work that I chose to show at Saccarappa Art Collective for our last show and our current show. Our last show featured guest artist Michel Droge and her theme was "Chaos." I spent some time thinking about chaos and the relationship of chaos and order in my work and discovered a poem by Wallace Stevens "The Idea of Order at Key West." I displayed this excerpt from the poem with my work:

Excerpt from “The Idea of Order at Key West”
Wallace Stevens, 1879 - 1955

“It was her voice that made
The sky acutest at its vanishing.
She measured to the hour its solitude.
She was the single artificer of the world
In which she sang.  And when she sang, the sea,
Whatever self it had, became the self
That was her song, for she was the maker.  Then we,
As we beheld her striding there alone,
Knew that there never was a world for her
Except the one she sang and, singing, made.”
